In Memoriam

1974

Kevin Suter '74 has achieved a long time goal by moving to downtown Toronto into the Church and Wellesley area. He has changed careers from the restaurant business to manage a Temp labour agency in the city. One pleasant surprise was to find his old first year Otonabee neighbour Brian Beagle '74, living three floors below him. Kevin is quite happy in his new home, with his new career and with his new boyfriend Allan. Who says things don't get better once you turn 40!

1976

Karen McGroarty-Cave '76 and family (husband Neil and children Erin (9), Zachary (8) and Mallory (5)) left Hong Kong (and Karen's wonderful job as visiting lecturer at the English Language Study Centre, Hong Kong Polytechnic University) in February '97 to accompany Neil to yet another power station site. An 18 month stay in Cambridge, U.K. preceded the move to Istanbul in August '98. Karen would be interested to know if there are any Trent alumni here and can be contacted at (0212) 2694005.

Wendy Laut '77 has been living in Perth, Ontario for the past 20 years and for 18 of those has owned and operated "Shadowfax" a store selling funky clothing, jewellery, CD & tapes, cards and gifts. She is a recent cancer survivor, but has optimistically purchased and renovated a commercial building on the main street to house her business. She is also in her 4th year (part-time) at the University of Ottawa where she is pursuing a fine arts degree in photography. She is divorced, but good friends with Dave Laut '77 who is also living in Perth and teaching at Algonquin College in Ottawa.
