There was an of error in the 1977 Sunshine Sketch for Robert Rose printed in the last issue: Robert's partner is Roy Gibb not Roy Gill. We apologise for the error and any confusion it may have caused.

Deb is working for Queensland Health and Rob is again gainfully employed as a geophysicist with a seismic company. They have been patiently working at getting permanent residency here as they've become rather hooked on the climate. They still visit their families in Calgary at Christmas (a refreshing break from the very hot and humid summer).

He went on to earn a Ph.D. in archaeology at the University of Calgary and stayed to teach. Now he has turned his hand to writing novels and is pleased to announce the publication of his first book, Inca Moon an historical novel of mystery and adventure sent in the Inca Empire of ancient South America. An impoverished young woman discovers she is nobility, but to reclaim her birthright she must solve a murder that holds the key to a dynastic power struggle. Inca Moon is available by order from Traffod Publishing (1-888-232-4444 or www.trafford.com/robots/01-0233.html). Patrick wants to hear from his Trent friends, but he refuses to use e-mail for personal letters. Write to him at #404-1540-29th St. NW, Calgary, T2N 4M1.

Scott Dunlop sent the following update:
"In early October Dean Harbridge '90 came down to Nova Scotia from Toronto so that we could go on a sea kayaking trip near Sheburne. I have been seconded to NS from Ottawa for several months and this seemed like an ideal opportunity to get out on the water. On our first day out we were caught about two km off shore when we encountered the tail end of Hurricane Karen. Karen was expected to land much further East but turned West at the last minute, which was news to us, the Coast Guard, Environment Canada not to mention our outfitter! In about 20 minutes light waves turned to 4-5 metre swells from the south with one metre of chop coming from the east off of a bay (I've never paddled up hill before!). We landed and waited out the storm hoping the surge plus the tide wasn't going to come over the beach and wash us out. The trip into shore was pretty un-nerving and the sound of the breakers moving tons of rocks up and down the beach all night is something I'll never forget. We were able to contact the outfitter the following day and dried out all of our things before heading out on the water again."

1988

After obtaining his Chartered Accountants' designation while articling with Trent University's own auditors, McColl Turner, and a brief stay in Toronto, he has traded in shovelling snow for lying on the beach.
